I am no big fan of marriage, gay or straight, but this little comment here was really very moving. Even for me.

asserting that marriage is about love never seemed more dubious to me. and this is not because he looks gay, although purporting to have NOTHING to do with it–which to me says it all–, but because until the issue of gay marriage came along is wasn’t so clear to me that any marriage is an act of interest. those who get married want an easier way than the ol’ trodden path of pure love. they choose the wheelchair, and then the love for the wheelchair takes precedence over the love for the partner. that’s just the way it goes…

i did say i was no fan of marriage. but hey, i do love a nice dress-up party. i’d love to get married many times, just to have a lot of fabulous parties.
